Hello! We are the ETF Strategy Division, the ETF Portfolio Management Division, and the ETF Consulting Division — the three teams that build TIME ACTIVE ETF together.
We identify market shifts early to design competitive products, and we pursue differentiated performance based on TIMEFOLIO’s distinctive active management capabilities. We also communicate the investment value of our products to investors through a wide range of content and communication, and we continue to broaden our points of contact with distributors and institutional investors.
Drawing on their respective areas of expertise, the three divisions collaborate closely across the entire process — from product planning through listing, portfolio management, marketing, and sales. Our goal is to offer investors the products they truly need, along with a better investing experience.
What sets ETF work apart from working on other funds?
An
ETF (exchange-traded fund) is listed on the exchange and traded in real time,
much like a stock. Market shifts and investor responses therefore surface
quickly, and both marketability and timeliness must be weighed throughout the
process of planning and managing a product.
Sourcing
strong investment ideas matters, but so does turning them into products
investors can readily understand and managing them so that they trade smoothly.
After listing, we continuously monitor investment performance, fund flows, and
market response in order to strengthen each product’s competitiveness.
This is especially true of TIME ACTIVE ETF. Because
these are active ETFs whose portfolios respond dynamically to market change,
portfolio management, product, marketing, and sales all need to move as one
connected whole.
What does each of the three divisions do?
The
ETF Strategy Division designs the medium- to long-term growth strategy and
product line-up for TIME ACTIVE ETF. It analyzes the market, competing
products, and investor demand to plan new products, and it handles listing and
the related execution work. It also sets brand strategy and the direction of
investor communication, conveying the investment value and competitiveness of
our products through advertising, content, and promotions.
The
ETF Portfolio Management Division carries out the core function of analyzing
markets and companies, constructing portfolios, and managing the ETFs. It
adjusts holdings and weightings as markets change, manages risk and performance
on an ongoing basis, and builds the active management capability that is
distinctly TIMEFOLIO’s.
The ETF Consulting Division connects TIME ACTIVE
ETF with investors across the institutional and retail markets. It introduces
our products to securities firms, distributors, and institutional investors and
executes sales strategy, then relays the investor demand and market response it
observes in the field back to our product and investment strategy.
How is a new ETF created?
A
new ETF begins not from simply following market trends, but from a question:
what investment opportunity and what value can this offer investors? Rather
than short-lived fads, we source investment ideas from factors such as
structural growth trends, industry cycles, and global movements of capital.
Once
the ETF Strategy Division has analyzed the market, competing products, and
investor demand to define the product’s direction, the ETF Portfolio Management
Division reviews whether it can in practice be managed, together with the
investment strategy and the approach to portfolio construction. The ETF
Consulting Division relays feedback from distributors and institutional
investors so that marketability and investor demand are examined alongside
them.
At
this stage we also check carefully whether the strategy is sustainable, whether
liquidity is sufficient, and whether there are any constraints on the
regulatory or tax side. However good an investment idea may be, it only becomes
a meaningful product for investors if it can actually be managed and can trade
smoothly.
Through
this process the product’s structure and strategy are finalized and preparations
for listing begin. After listing, the three divisions continue to review
investment performance, fund flows, and investor response together, working to
keep the product competitive.
What capabilities are worth developing in advance for those interested in ETF work?
A
basic interest in financial markets and ETFs matters most of all. The habit of
regularly asking why markets move and what is changing across industries and
companies goes a long way in this work.
Portfolio
management work calls for the ability to analyze markets and companies and to
make judgments grounded in data. Strategy work calls for the planning ability
to turn market change into product and business opportunity, and the
communication skills to convey complex investment content clearly and simply.
Consulting work calls for a precise understanding of the product and the
ability to explain it persuasively from the other party’s point of view.
Investing in ETFs yourself, or comparing and
analyzing the investment strategies, portfolios, and performance of products
that interest you, is also good preparation.
What is the team like to work with?
Because our three divisions have to respond quickly to market change, the atmosphere is one of open discussion and fast execution. Regardless of seniority or which division you sit in, good ideas are shared readily and then developed into better outcomes with everyone’s expertise added.
The
divisions have distinct roles, but a single goal: to build good products, to
pursue differentiated performance, and to bring the value of TIME ACTIVE ETF to
more investors.
We
respect one another’s roles while drawing no boundaries when work needs doing —
we move as One Team. In a fast-growing ETF market, this is a place to enjoy
trying new things and to learn and grow alongside colleagues.
