Fund FAQ

Q
Can I receive a private fund investment consultation directly from TIMEFOLIO?

A

TIMEFOLIO only manages investments through funds as indirect investment vehicles, and therefore cannot provide solicitation or individual customer consultations. For investment consultations, please use the branch offices of nearby banks or securities companies that sell our funds.

Q
How is taxation applied to private fund income?

A

For fund investments, financial income up to KRW 20 million per year is subject to a 15.4% withholding tax, and any amount exceeding KRW 20 million is subject to comprehensive taxation on financial income. The tax is levied based on the fund’s taxable NAV, not on the fund’s total capital gains.

The taxable NAV is determined according to the source of the fund’s income. Capital gains from domestic equities are tax-exempt, so no taxable NAV is generated. However, dividend income or capital gains from overseas investments are calculated based on the taxable NAV. The final taxable amount is determined at the time of fund settlement or redemption, based on the final returns after deducting fund management fees, performance fees, and other expenses.

Q
Is discretionary investment available?

A

All of TIMEFOLIO’s products are managed through funds as indirect investment vehicles, and we do not provide separate discretionary investment services.
