Q
What are the main investment targets in the alternative investment sector?

A

We invest in equities and (equity-linked) bonds issued by companies at various stages of their development, from early-stage ventures to growth capital, IPOs of newly listed companies, and listed companies' financing (CB/BW). To this end, we actively engage in joint investments and mutual cooperation with various institutional investors, including domestic and international venture capital companies, private equity funds, asset management companies, and securities companies.

Q
What background and experience does the team have?

A

TIMEFOLIO's alternative investment division handles a wide range of investment assets at various stages and types, and thus comprises a diverse team of professionals with diverse background. Our team comprises investment companies such as venture capital (VC), private equity (PE), and new technology finance companies, as well as accounting companies, securities companies, consulting companies, various financial institutions such as banks and capital markets, policy finance institutions, and even professionals with extensive experience in the industry. We actively collaborate with each other, leveraging our respective backgrounds.

Q
For those interested in Alternative Investment, what tips would be good to have in advance?

A

Beyond trading listed equities, it's crucial to maintain a keen interest in various corporate financing methods, governance structures, M&A strategies, and various investment successes and failures. In particular, since investments and exits often take place over periods ranging from as short as one year to as long as four or five years or more, it's beneficial to practice analyzing business models, understanding industry trends, and developing your own opinions.

Q
I'm curious about what it would be like to work together at the Alternative Investment Division!

A

Due to the nature of our work, we often collaborate with other departments and external partners rather than working individually. As a result, communication and cooperation among team members are highly active at all times and in various settings. By proactively sharing our respective expertise and professional networks, we have built strong teamwork over the years based on mutual trust.
